NUSA One-Time Volunteers Needed

What do you love most about Minneapolis? Do you love the abundance of City parks? Farmer's markets? Neighborhood organizations? The philanthropic spirit? The City of Minneapolis is hosing a Neighborhoods USA conference dedicated to strengthening the amazing web of community organizations in our city.

As David Rubedor, Director, puts it, the conference is "designed to showcase and build successful collaborations between neighborhoods, cultural communities, residents, and government." And don't think they're leaving out St. Paul!...representatives from St. Paul and Rochester will be sharing collaborative tools as well.

City Explorers
Like reading? Love kids? Be a tutor!

Literacy is one of the key indicators of student success, and kids who have experienced homelessness are far more likely to fall behind their peers. This summer you can help students from low-income backgrounds build confidence, develop social skills and increase their literacy and love of learning by becoming a tutor-mentor in a high-quality summer learning program. Volunteers make all the difference in helping kids achieve success in school and success in life!

When: Tuesdays &/or Wednesdays, 10 am-12 pm, 6/18-8/15 (no program July 4)
Where: 2020 Eliot Ave S, Minneapolis 55404

Nice to meet you!

Hi there, West Metro RSVP folks,

My name is Molly, and I have just started my new position as West Metro Coordinator and I couldn't be more excited! I've recently moved from Seattle back to Minneapolis as I grew up around here and believe it or not missed the freezing cold snow that lasts until April...okay, well, not really, but I am glad to be back regardless of weather :)

And I'm glad to be part of the work that you all do! I am passionate about impacting the community and believe everyone makes a difference for the better when they volunteer their time and talents. So, thank you.

Please feel free to give me a call or email anytime for anything at all--even just to say hi--and I'll look forward to hopefully meeting you in person someday.
